Acceptable use policy

Effective date: 25 August 2026. This policy forms part of the Tickaboo Terms of Service.

Tickaboo exists to keep children's images safe. These rules are conditions of use; breaking them leads to suspension or termination under the Terms, and where the law requires it, to reports to authorities.

Image upload rules

• Photos containing identifiable children may be uploaded in one of two ways: blurred on your own device before upload in Photo Library (the original never reaches us), or as-is into the de-identification workflow in Photo Studio (remove, blur, turn away, illustrate), where the original is held only until it is cleared or automatically removed by our daily retention process — in practice up to roughly 24-30 hours, not instantly. Neither path allows an unresolved photo of an identifiable child to remain in your saved library.
• Only cleared images — no identifiable children, or faces confirmed as consenting adults — can be saved to your media library. The save gate enforces this; do not attempt to bypass it.
• Do not upload images you do not have the right and consent to process.
• Do not upload images captured on personal devices in breach of your obligations under the Education and Care Services National Law or your own device policy.

Synthetic and AI content rules

• Never use AI features to recreate, approximate or edit the likeness of a real, identifiable person, adult or child.
• Never add a child's real likeness to any image. Synthetic children must be entirely artificial.
• All synthetic children must be depicted in age-appropriate, non-sexualised, safe contexts. Any attempt to generate sexualised, abusive, violent or degrading content involving minors is prohibited, will result in immediate termination, and will be reported to the eSafety Commissioner and police where required by law.
• Record a disclosure choice on export of synthetic-child images, and comply with platform disclosure rules (for example Meta's AI disclosure) when publishing.

Register and data rules

The consent register is not yet live; these rules apply from its launch.

• Enter register data only for children in your organisation's care, with guardian consent.
• Do not attempt to re-identify any person from de-identified images.
• Do not use the service to surveil, track or profile any individual.

Platform rules

• No security testing, scraping, reverse engineering, credential sharing or automated account creation without written permission.
• No reselling or providing the service to third parties outside your organisation without a written agreement with us.
• Report suspected misuse or security issues to security@tickaboo.com.au. Good-faith reports are welcome and will not be penalised.
