Everything happens in the browser tab that's open right now. The face finder downloads once, runs on your own device, and the photo is redrawn there too. We never see it, and there's nowhere for it to be uploaded to even if you wanted that.
Saving the result also redraws it through the canvas, which strips the EXIF and GPS data most cameras quietly attach to a photo. That's gone from the download too, not just the faces.

Yes. Blurring runs entirely in your browser, so it doesn't cost us anything to offer it either. Blur as many photos as you like, no account and no card.
No. The photo never leaves the browser tab it's opened in. Face detection and blurring both run on your own device using a small model downloaded once, and nothing is sent anywhere to make that happen.
Yes. Every face is circled for you the moment the photo opens, so nobody gets missed by accident. Remove the circle from any child you do not need covered, drag or resize the rest, then press Blur and only the circled faces are blurred.
No. The blur is not a sticker laid over the photo, and it is not something you can peel off in another app. Those pixels are rebuilt from a much smaller version of themselves, so the detail that made the face recognisable is genuinely gone from the file you download.
Yes, group and classroom photos are fine. The finder looks for every face in the frame, though a very crowded photo on an older phone will take a little longer to process than a photo of two or three people.
Yes. Safari on iPhone and Mac opens HEIC files on its own, and everywhere else the tool converts them on your own device before blurring. Either way the photo still never leaves your browser, so you can drop a HEIC straight off your camera roll.
